根據《中華人民共和國香港特別行政區維護國家安全法》，香港特別行政區將設立維護國家安全委員會(huì )，并接受中央人民政府的監督和問(wèn)責。香港特別行政區政府警務(wù)處將設立維護國家安全的部門(mén)。
According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the HKSAR will establish a committee for safeguarding national security, which is under the supervision of and accountable to the central government. The Hong Kong police force will also set up a department for safeguarding national security.

根據憲法、香港基本法和全國人大相關(guān)決定，人大常委會(huì )制定香港特別行政區維護國家安全法，對香港特別行政區維護國家安全制度機制作出了法律化、規范化、明晰化的具體安排。法律充分考慮兩種制度差異和香港具體情況，與維護國家安全的全國性法律相銜接，與香港現有法律體系相兼容，體現了“懲治極少數、保護大多數”的原則，為維護國家安全和香港長(cháng)治久安、長(cháng)期繁榮發(fā)展，為確保香港居民依法享有的權利和自由，為保護外國人在香港的合法權益和外國投資者的利益，為確?！耙粐鴥芍啤笔聵I(yè)行穩致遠，提供了法律支撐和保障。
根據該法，中央人民政府對香港特別行政區有關(guān)的國家安全事務(wù)負有根本責任。香港特別行政區行政機關(guān)、立法機關(guān)、司法機關(guān)應當依據該法和其他有關(guān)法律規定有效防范、制止和懲治危害國家安全的行為和活動(dòng)。
